Player feedback
Let players tell you what is broken or what they want, from a form inside your game. Their notes land in your game's feedback inbox.
You design the form: a text box, a few buttons for the kind of feedback, maybe stars. The form sends the text to your server, and the server passes it to shipLua.
-- LocalScript in your feedback form
local SendFeedback = game.ReplicatedStorage.SendFeedback -- a RemoteEvent
SubmitButton.Activated:Connect(function()
SendFeedback:FireServer(TextBox.Text, SelectedStars)
end)-- Script in ServerScriptService
local ShipLua = require(game.ServerScriptService.ShipLua)
local SendFeedback = game.ReplicatedStorage.SendFeedback
SendFeedback.OnServerEvent:Connect(function(player, text, rating)
local ok, reason = ShipLua:SubmitFeedback(player, text, {
Category = "Bug", -- your own label: "Idea", "Shop", "Level 3"
Rating = rating, -- optional, 1 to 5
})
-- When ok is false, show reason to the player, e.g. "Please wait a little".
end)- Notes show up on the game's Player feedback page under From your game, usually within a minute. Mark them reviewed, archive them or delete them.
- Use categories to sort notes, such as Bug, Idea or the level a player was on. Ratings are averaged over the last 30 days.
- Text is cut to 1000 characters. Names and ids of players in the server are replaced with <player> before the note leaves the game.
- One player can send a note every 30 seconds, 5 per visit and 10 a day, so a broken form or a spammer cannot flood the inbox.
- Notes are deleted 30 days after they arrive. Pick 7 to 365 days on the feedback page.
- When you share feedback with the assistant, it reads these notes as player opinions when it looks for themes. It never takes them as instructions.
