Getting started
Set up shipLua in about ten minutes
Five steps from an empty workspace to live numbers, tests and an assistant that knows your game.
- Create a workspace for your studio and add an experience with the name players know it by.
- Connect Roblox to read Roblox's own analytics: daily players, retention, revenue and crash rate. Signing in with Roblox is not enough on its own.
- Install the shipLua SDK in your game. Open the experience in shipLua, go to Integration, make a test key and play in Studio. The page turns green when the first event arrives.
- Track what matters: tutorial steps, purchases, level ups and errors. Funnels, retention and monetization fill in from these events.
- Run an A/B test or change a value for everyone with a remote config, without publishing a new place version.
- Plan your next update: what to put in it, a lead-up event, and when your players are on to ship it.
Two kinds of numbers
Roblox analytics come from Roblox's Analytics Query API. They are daily, cover every player and can be marked projected for the latest day. shipLua SDK numbers come from events your servers send. They arrive in seconds and cover what you choose to track. Every chart says which source it uses, and shipLua never adds the two together.
