Analytics SDK
Funnels
A funnel counts players who reach each event in turn, and how long that takes, from shipLua SDK events.
Open a game and choose Funnels under Analytics. Search also finds it: press Ctrl+K (or ⌘K) and type funnel.
Steps
A funnel has two to ten steps. Each step is an SDK event: a category and a name such as Tutorial:Start, or a prefix such as Shop:*. Conversion is the share of players who sent step 1 and later reached that step. Drop-off is the share of the previous step who did not continue. The median is the typical time from the previous step, for funnels that require an order.
- In order. Each step counts only at or after the previous one, and inside the window that starts at step 1.
- Any order. After step 1, the other steps can arrive in any order before the window ends.
- The window is 1 hour to 30 days. A step that lands exactly on the end of the window still counts.
- A player can start the funnel more than once. The attempt that reaches the furthest step is the one that counts, and the earliest of those on a tie.
Funnels use live events. Studio test events do not fill a funnel. If the SDK has never sent an event, the page points you at installing the SDK and connecting the game instead of saying that nobody reached step 1.
Saved funnels
Save funnel stores the steps, the window and whether order matters. It does not store the date range. People you share it with can reopen it from Saved funnel on the same game. “Everyone in the studio” is visible to the studio; “Only me” stays with you.
See Saved funnels for sharing and reopening a definition.
The menu shows which funnel is open. After a reload, a funnel you opened stays selected (the address has ?saved=). Until you pick one, the steps are the tutorial template, and the page says so. Saving confirms with a toast and selects the funnel you just stored.
Funnel assistant
Describe the funnel in a sentence. shipLua drafts the definition and Luau that calls ShipLua:TrackFunnelStep, which sends category funnel and the name FunnelName:StepName. Use the steps in the builder, copy the Luau, or copy the task prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or a CLI.
The same draft is the MCP tool draft_funnel and the prompt instrument_funnel. The draft does not call a model and does not read or edit the place. Your coding agent places the calls. See AI, MCP and editors to connect one, and Track events for the other SDK calls.
