shipLua CLI
Connect your terminal to Studio.
Install the CLI, sign in to your workspace, then connect the place open in Roblox Studio.
1. Install
You need Node.js 20 or newer. Run the command for your system in a terminal.
curl -fsSL https://shiplua.com/cli/install.sh | shirm https://shiplua.com/cli/install.ps1 -OutFile $env:TEMP\shiplua-install.ps1
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File $env:TEMP\shiplua-install.ps1The installer checks the download checksum and adds shiplua and shiplua-mcp in ~/.shiplua/bin. On macOS and Linux, follow its instructions to add that directory to your PATH. On Windows, open a new terminal.
shiplua --version2. Sign in
Sign in to shipLua in your browser. For chat, AI settings and funnel setup, create a personal token in Settings → Studio → AI tools and set SHIPLUA_TOKEN in your terminal. The CLI reference shows how. The local Studio bridge works without a token. Signing in needs the Pro plan or up, or beta access.
3. Connect Studio
Download the shipLua Studio plugin (or install it from your workspace’s Studio settings), open your place, then run:
shiplua bridge- In the shipLua panel, open Agent → Connect AI tools.
- Enter the code printed in your terminal.
- Allow HTTP requests to localhost when Studio asks. Leave the terminal running.
To connect Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, follow Use your own AI tool. Run either the bridge or the MCP server; one is enough.
